Dr. Minxian Xu is currently an Associate Professor at Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy Science (SIAT). He is a team member of Cloud Computing Research Center directed by Prof. Chengzhong Xu. He has published 50+ research papers in prominent journals and conferences (2 ESI highly cited papers), including CSUR, TOIT, TSUSC, TNSM, TCC, TGCN, TASE, JPDC, JSS, SPE, JCST, IOTJ and ICSOC. These research work has bee cited 1800+ times (Google Scholar data). He has been the Program Chair/Program Committee for 10+ international conferences, and has given 20+ oral presentations. He is the PI/Co-PI of 10 research projects, including grants from NSFC, Ministry of Science and Technology, Shenzhen Government, Alibaba and Huawei. He is also the active reviewer for 40+ journals and conferences, such as TPDS, ToN, TMC, TSC, TSUSC, TCC, TASE, TGCN, TNSM, TII, TETCI, ToMPECS, ICDCS. His research interests are resource scheduling in Clouds, like load balancing and energy efficiency for Clouds, and microservice management under Cloud-native environment. His PhD thesis was awarded the 2019 IEEE TCSC Outstanding PhD Dissertation Award. He is member of IEEE and CCF.
Before joined SIAT, he worked as Research Fellow/Research Assistant at University of Melbourne and Monash University for several months. He got his PhD degree in April 2019, CLOUDS lab, School of Computing Information Systems, University of Melbourne, under the supervision of Prof. Rajkumar Buyya.
He obtained his bachelor and master degree from School of Information and Software Engineering, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China at 2012 and 2015 respectively, supervised by Prof. Wenhong Tian, both in Software Engineering.
He was born in Yingtan, Jiangxi Province, China.
