A graduate-level introduction to the basic knowledge and main technologies of virtualization and cloud computing. The course will mainly cover the overview of cloud computing, big data, virtualization technology, cloud computing data centers, parallel and cluster technology, load balancing techniques, energy efficiency techniques, cloud storage, cloud platforms like Kubernetes, cloud simulations, cloud computing with big data and artificial intelligence applications. With the core principle study and practice of the course project, we expect the students to apply the studied knowledge to cloud computing system design, implementation, and problem-solving.
